Completing your MSc Financial Management degree means that you are exempt from the Certificate in Treasury Fundamentals.
Depending on the modules you have studied, you may also be exempt from certain units of the Certificate in Treasury.
Option 1: Exemption from the Certificate in Treasury Unit 1: The context of treasury
You are exempt from the Certificate in Treasury Unit 1: Context of treasury, if you are an MSc Financial Management graduate who has taken and passed the following modules:
- Corporate Financial Management (compulsory module)
- Financial Statement Analysis for Investors (compulsory module)
- Foreign Exchange and International Money Markets (compulsory module)
- International Treasury Management (elective module)
Option 2: Exemption from the Certificate in Treasury Unit 3: Corporate finance
You are exempt from the Certificate in Treasury Unit 3: Corporate finance, if you are an MSc Financial Management graduate who has taken and passed the following modules:
- Corporate Financial Management (compulsory module)
- Financial Statement Analysis for Investors (compulsory module)
- Foreign Exchange and International Money Markets (compulsory module)
- Advanced Corporate Financial Management (compulsory module)
- International Treasury Management (elective module)
- Security Analysis and Valuation (elective module)
Option 3: Exemption from the Certificate in Treasury Unit 4: Ethics, governance and regulation in treasury
You are exempt from the Certificate in Treasury Unit 4: Ethics, governance and regulation in treasury, if you are an MSc Financial Management graduate who has taken and passed the following modules:
- Corporate Financial Management (compulsory module)
- Financial Statement Analysis for Investors (compulsory module)
- Foreign Exchange Markets (compulsory module)
- Advanced Corporate Financial Management (compulsory module)
- International Treasury Management (elective module)
- Ethics, Governance and Regulation in Treasury (elective module)
Option 4: Exemption from the Certificate in Treasury Unit 5: Risk analysis and management
You are exempt from the Certificate in Treasury Unit 5: Risk analysis and management, if you are an MSc Financial Management graduate who has taken and passed the following modules:
- Corporate Financial Management (compulsory module)
- Financial Statement Analysis for Investors (compulsory module)
- Foreign Exchange Markets (compulsory module)
- Advanced Corporate Financial Management (compulsory module)
- International Treasury Management (elective module)
- Risk Analysis and Management (elective module)
Depending on the number of exemptions gained, you may only need to complete one further unit (Unit 2) to complete the Certificate in Treasury.
When you are ready to buy your exemptions, you will be asked to create an ACT Learning account if you haven’t already got one.
Have your credit / debit card details to hand; you will be required to make online payment through Stripe. Upon submission, you will receive an automated summary email.
You will be required to upload evidence of your prior learning in the form of a certificate and transcript with the year you qualified clearly visible.

Whilst you are studying it’s up to you to decide when you are ready to opt in and take your assessment. There are three assessment windows for the Certificate in Treasury each year for you to choose from.
For the Certificate in Treasury there is one exam per unit, which is online invigilated. Each exam is two hours in duration.
When you buy, you will need to log in to your ACT Learning account. If you have not got one, you will be prompted to create one.
