DRIVING CASH MANAGEMENT BUSINESS

What does your current role entail?
I am part of the Cash Management Sales team, based in Dubai (UAE) and primarily responsible for driving cash management business among global banking customers. Key relationships include large global, local and government names among Oil and Gas, Automobile, Telecom, Automation, Consumer goods, Steel, Aluminium, Retail, Commodities and Infrastructure sector. I also cover Oman (both Cash and Trade Sales) and overall I help companies enhance their treasury functions by discussing strategic initiatives, understanding their challenges and applying innovative ideas.
I am required to manage and take end-to-end responsibility for the transaction banking business in Global Banking Segment and meet/exceed sales goals and targets in respect of revenues and volumes from these large, complex and highly demanding clients.
How did you end up in a career in treasury/finance?
I started my career in banking and worked in various roles such as Relationship Management, Supply Chain Finance, Portfolio Management, Trade Advisor and Transaction Banking Sales in Mumbai and Dubai. My proven and consistent track record of good performance, adaptive attitude and inter-personal skills, coupled with an organisation that nurtures mobility and believes in its talent, has helped me continue and develop my career in Corporate and Institutional Banking.
Why did you take this ACT qualification? What was your main objective?
To gain a detailed understanding of international cash management and stay ahead of the curve. Overall, the course is relevant and timely in terms of my career development.
Which specific areas of your job role will this qualification support?
It has helped me to acquire greater specialisation and gain the relevant expertise required to make me a well-rounded, holistic cash sales professional. Moreover, this certification has provided me with confidence and clearly helped me to become a trusted advisor to my clients.
Are there particular areas of treasury/finance that this qualification helped you understand even better?
I can add greater value to client conversations/solutions by adopting best practices in cash management right from account structures, working capital management, effective payables, receivables, liquidity management, investments, risk management to treasury tools and technology.
What are the benefits of being able to study online?
