This route allows experienced treasury practitioners to gain direct entry to the Diploma in Treasury Management (AMCT). We recognise that not everyone who works in treasury will have an academic background, but that significant skills and experience will have been gained on the job over the course of a person’s career. The direct entry process enables you to demonstrate this and progress your learning.
- Direct Entry onto the Diploma in Treasury Management:
You may be eligible if you have seven years’ experience. If you are unsure that your work experience is sufficient to begin with the Diploma in Treasury Management, then take a look at the managerial level of the ACT Competency Framework. If you recognised these competencies in your personal work, then the Diploma in Treasury Management may be a suitable starting point for your studies.
DIRECT ENTRY PROCESS
Step 1: The application process requires an administration fee of £240+VAT (non-refundable), purchased through the booking form. See links at the bottom of this page.
Step 2: Once your booking and payment is received, you will be sent a link to your online self-assessment form where you can provide evidence of your working experience. You will need to demonstrate a strong match against the relevant syllabus and learning outcomes throughout the application. You will also be required to attach a letter of support from your employer, or someone who can confirm your work experience.
Step 3: When you have submitted your self-assessment form, including your mandatory letter of support, your application will be reviewed by a panel of industry experts, in partnership with the ACT.
Step 4: On completion of this review, we will be in touch with you to discuss the outcome and advise the best course of action for you. This can take up to four weeks from the date of submission. The ACT’s decision as to whether you qualify for direct entry shall be final and there is no procedure to appeal the outcome. This process either confirms that you can gain direct entry onto the qualification you are applying for or you will be advised to study the previous qualification first.
If you are awarded full exemption, you will be required to pay for them. Please note that you will not receive a certificate and you will not be able to use the designatory letters after your name for the qualification you are exempted from. If you would like to be able to use the Certificate in Treasury designatory letters after your name you will need to sit one Certificate in Treasury exam.
