ASSESSMENT POLICIES

The Association of Corporate Treasurers (ACT) is a UK based Awarding Body, committed to providing high quality qualifications and assessment practices with supporting policies that are transparent and free from bias. The policies below provide you with information on how to comply with the ACT's exam rules, how we support students who require reasonable adjustment and post-exam support.

ASSESSMENT RULES AND REGULATIONS POLICY

These rules and regulations apply to the assessments of all ACT qualifications.

PLAGIARISM AND COLLUSION POLICY

Plagiarism is the deliberate or unwitting passing off of someone else’s work as your own. All work that you submit as part of your ACT assessment must be expressed in your own words and incorporate your own judgements. Please review this policy before you take an assessment.

REASONABLE ADJUSTMENT POLICY

The UK Equality Act 2010 requires an Awarding Body to make reasonable adjustments where a disabled person would be at a substantial disadvantage in undertaking an assessment. In this regard, ACT is willing to review requests for reasonable adjustment from candidates who have longstanding conditions that would otherwise mean they are unlikely to be able to perform on an equitable basis to other candidates when sitting an exam or submitting an assignment.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION POLICY

The ACT is willing to review requests for special consideration for candidates who have not been able to perform to their potential due to unforeseen or extenuating circumstances immediately prior to or during the sitting or submission of their assessment(s).

APPEALS POLICY

ACT candidates may appeal against their assessment result should they feel they qualify to do so and have exhausted all other post results services.
